Reeher helps Warriors rebound in sweep of Cascade

PORTLAND, Ore. – Sophomore Chelsea Reeher (Powell Butte, Ore.) paced Corban's women's volleyball team with a match-high 12 kills, as the Warriors rebounded from a three-match slid with a sweep (30-23, 30-21, 30-14) of the Thunderbirds of Cascade on Saturday.
Along with Reeher's match-high in kills, senior Hallie Hofferd (Bend, Ore.) and junior Ashley Lange (Salem, Ore.) each added 9 kills. Sophomore Jessica McGraw (Gaston, Ore.) chipped in with 7 kills, while a trio of other Warriors each recorded a kill during the three games.
The Warriors recorded 15, 9, and 16 kills respectively in the three-game sweep of the host Thunderbirds, while committing a combined 16 attack errors. On the other hand, Cascade had 12, 10, and 5 kills respectively and registered a combined 17 miscues.
Junior Caylin Goss (La Grande, Ore.) had a match-high 5 service aces, while freshman setter Amy Thompson (Oregon City, Ore.) guided the Warriors' offense with a match-high 30 assists. Senior libero Becky Horn (Troutdale, Ore.) anchored Corban's back line with a match-high 15 digs, while McGraw added 9 and Lange had 3.
Cascade was led by Alicia Charles' team-high 8 kills, while Shelby Cullen and Amanda Cochran added 6 each. Vanessa Fleetwood guided the T-birds' offense with a team-high 23 assists, while Shar Agee anchored Cascade's back line with a team-high 13 digs.
Corban is now 7-15 overall, 4-11 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, Cascade falls to 1-23 overall, 0-14 in CCC action. The Warriors will return to the lovely confines of the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center on Friday, October 27th, when they go head-to-head with the Raiders of Southern Oregon beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Salem. This will be the first of three home matches to wrap up the 2006 regular season.
