Fahsholz finishes second at Lewis & Clark Invitational

ESTACADA, Ore. – For the second straight week, senior Brent Fasholz (Canby, Ore.) ran at the head of the pack. This time finishing second and helping lead Corban's men's & women's cross country team to 4th and 5th place finishes respectively at the Lewis & Clark Invitational on Saturday.
A second place finish for Fahsholz helped lead the Warrior men’s team to a fourth place finish. His time of 26:11.00 finished just behind race winner and Central Washington junior Sam Scotchmer (25:54.50).
The 12th and 15th place Corban sophomores Ben Snell (Spray, Ore.) and Jason Bernard (Salem, Ore.) were congratulated with individual awards as well, finishing with times of 26:55.00 and 27:01.00. Sophomore Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) completed the 2006 Lewis and Clark Invitational less than 30 seconds behind Bernard while taking 23rd place and freshman Jeffrey Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) and junior Chad Hunsucker (Polson, Mont.) finished in the top 30.
The Women’s team finished fifth overall, posting three runners in the top 30.
Freshman Tera Stegner (Damascus, Ore.) crossed the finish line in 20th place just eight seconds (and one place) in front of fellow freshman teammate Bernice Soto (Cascade, Ore.) in a time of 24:34.90. Junior Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.) recorded a time of 25:25.00 while taking 28th place at McIver Park. Central Washington junior Katie Hummel won the women’s 6K race with a time of 21:45.70.
Corban’s cross country teams can next be seen on Saturday, September 23rd, when they compete in the program's first-ever home meet, the Corban/Warner Pacific Invitational, at Bush Park here in Salem at 1:00 p.m.
