Senior Brent Fahsholz led Corban to a 2nd place overall, while capturing the individual title at the Boxer Rebellion.

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – In its first race of the 2006 season, Corban's men's and women's cross country teams came away from the Boxer Rebellion with an individual title, a 2nd place finish, and a 3rd place finish.

Senior Brent Fahsholz (Canby, Ore.) brought home his first-ever individual title thanks to a time of 28:16.37, which was just under 18 seconds faster than second place finisher, Kellen Peters of Pacific.  Despite a wrong turn at one point during the race and an extra 400 meters worth of running, Fahsholz paced the Warrior team to a 2nd place overall finish.

Sophomores Jason Bernard (Salem, Ore.) and Ben Snell (Spray, Ore.) finished 8th and 14th respectively in times of 29:16.31 and 29:42.46.

All six Warriors finished in the top 20, as sophomores Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) and Brian Everhardt (Philomath, Ore.) turned in 16th and 17th place showing respectively.  Junior Chad Hunsucker (Polson, Montana) struggled to a 20th place finish, as he completed the race barefoot due to bleeding caused by new running shoes.

On the women's side, all six runners finished in the top 25 and were seperated by less than a minute, as Corban finished 3rd overall.

Freshman Carli Moeller (Vancouver, Wash.) paced the Warriors with a 13th place showing in a time of 25:28.83, while fellow freshman Tera Stegner (Barlow, Ore.) and junior Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.) cross the finish line in 14th and 17th place respectively in times of 25:29.71 and 25:58.74.

Freshman Bernice Soto (Cascade, Ore.) and juniors Ashley Adams (Lebanon, Ore.) and Sara Aiken (Lebanon, Ore.) placed 18th, 20th, and 21st respectively in times of 26:09.10, 26:18.57, and 26:41.03.

Corban runners return to action on Saturday, September 9th, when they compete in the Lewis & Clark Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Estacada, Oregon.
