Moller records highest finish at CCC Championships

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Freshman Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.) placed fourth in the 1,500-meter run to record the highest finish for the Warriors, as Corban's men's and women's track teams compete in the first-ever Cascade Collegiate Conference championships on Friday.
In four events, Corban had five runners place in the top 20 in each of their respective races with Moller finishing the closest to the top.
Moller finished the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:57.17 to place one spot ahead of fellow Warrior and freshman Bernice Soto (Aumsville, Ore.), who ran the race in a time of 4:58.80. The freshman duo combined to record nine of the Warriors' overall first day total of 18 points.
Along with Moller and Soto, fellow freshman Tera Stegner (Damascus, Ore.) rounded out the women's competition for Corban with a fifth place finish in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:00.55 to earn four points towards the team total.
For the men, freshman Kristopher Cox (Bend, Ore.) took 13th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 52.83, while fellow freshman Jeffrey Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) closed out the day for the Warriors with a 19th place showing in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:35.01.
Corban’s track teams will conclude their respective season on Saturday, May 12th, when the Warriors close out the second day of the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships in La Grande beginning at 10:00 a.m.
