Warriors run in first race of spring season at Linfield

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Corban's men's and women's track teams took part in the first official race of the spring season at the Linfield Invite on Friday and had six individuals and one team place in five different events.

On the women's side, freshman Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.) and junior Danielle Jordan (Medford, Ore.) paced the Warriors with a pair of second place finishes in the 800 meter and 5,000 meter race respectively. Moller finished the 800 meter in a time of 2:24.53, while Jordan led a trio of Corban runners in the 5,000 meter race with a time of 18:21.85. Along with Jordan, juniors Sara Aiken (Lebanon, Ore.) and Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.) finished 6th and 7th respectively in times of 19:56.14 and 20:25.44. Corban's 4x400 meter relay team took 4th overall in a time of 4:17.11 with Moller anchoring the final leg.

On the men's side, freshman Kristopher Cox (Bend, Ore.) paced Corban's runner with a 9th place finish in the 400 meter dash in a time of 54.41, while fellow freshman Jeffery Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) concluded the 800 meter race in a time of 2:05.46, which was good for 15th place.

Corban’s track teams will return to the track on Friday, March 23rd, in the Charles Bowles Spring Break Classic at McCullough Stadium on the campus of Willamette University beginning at 12:00 p.m.
