PORTLAND, Ore. - Junior Lindsay Batey (Aloha, Ore.) continued to add to her home run total this season with her team-leading 7th in the night cap, but Corban's softball team dropped both conference match ups, 10-1 & 7-4, to the Cavaliers of Concordia on Tuesday.

Game #1 - Concordia 10, Corban 1

The Warriors jumped out to an early lead behind singles from sophomore Megan Gaylord (Portland, Ore.) and Batey in the first inning. After Gaylord's lead off hit put her on base, a wild pitch moved her to second. Just a pair of batters later, Batey was able to advance Gaylord the rest of the way home with Corban's lone RBI of the day's first game.

In the final inning, freshman Kacie Emerick (Bellingham, Wash.) recorded the Warriors' only other hit of the opening stanza, but was left on base at the close of the game.

Alternatively, Concordia runners rounded the bases in each of the first four innings (three runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning, one run in the third inning, and four runs in the fourth inning), heightened by the Cavalier's Shalina Morris' lead-off solo-home run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Corban's sophomore starter Karlee Sisler (Corvallis, Ore.) went the distance in the circle for the Warriors, while striking out one Concordia batter.

The Cavaliers' Annele Huckins gave up just one run on two hits in four innings of work that included eight strikeouts. Huckins was replaced in the final inning by Carleen Lessard who struck out one batter and allowed one hit in her lone inning in the circle.

Game #2 - Concordia 7, Corban 4

After Concordia scored five runs (5-0) in the first two innings of the night cap, including a two RBI double by Cijay Koninui, Corban began a small come back behind a team effort of three runs on four hits in the fourth inning. Freshman Siriana Guest (Salem, Ore.) tallied her lone hit of the day on a single that drove in Emerick (5-1) in the fourth inning. After Batey reached base safely, freshman Nicole Leupitz (Keizer, Ore.) registered a pair of RBIs on a single that drove both Batey (5-2) and freshman pinch runner Jessica Pierce (Kennewick, Wash.) home (5-3).

The Cavaliers added yet another run (6-3) in the fifth inning behind Morris' second home run of the day, but the Warriors answered with a jack of their own in the following inning when Batey recorded her team-leading 15th RBI of the season on a solo-home run (6-4). Concordia's Kari Mabe followed suit at the bottom of that same sixth inning when she cranked a lead-off solo-shot (7-4) over the fence to conclude the game's scoring.

Corban's junior starter Kelley Seaton (Salem, Ore.) struck out three of the Concordia batters that she faced over the full 6.0 innings, while the Cavaliers' Danielle Pulfrey went the distance (7.0 innings), allowing 4 runs (all earned) on six hits, and struck out six Warriors at the plate.

On the afternoon, Batey led the Warriors on a combined 3-for-5 performance with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Morris led Concordia with a combined 4-for-6 performance in the batters box that included four RBIs and two runs scored.

Corban falls to 3-23-1 overall, 1-9 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. On the other hand, Concordia improves to 11-8 overall, 6-4 in CCC action. The Warriors are next in action on Friday, April 6th, when they host Simon Fraser University for a regional double header beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Warrior Field.
