ASHLAND, Ore. - Freshman Siriana Guest (Salem, Ore.) recorded a combined three hits in Saturday's double header, including the Warriors' lone hit in the opener, but Corban's softball team dropped a pair of conference games to Southern Oregon, 8-0 & 6-4, at Raider Diamond.

Game #1 - Southern Oregon 8, Corban 0

In the opener of the double header, Corban got its lone hit -- a single -- by Guest in the first inning before Southern Oregon's pitching held the visiting team hitless over the final 4.1 innings of the game.

Meanwhile, Southern Oregon tacked on three runs in the second inning, four runs in the fourth inning, and a single run in the fifth inning before the game was called due to the 8-run mercy rule.

Former Warrior Becca Shelamer led the Raiders' offense with a perfect 2-for-2 performance at the plate, including a run scored and a pair of RBIs.

Corban's sophomore starter Karlee Sisler (Corvallis, Ore.) was saddled with her third loss of the season, as the right-hander pitched all four innings for Corban, while allowing 8 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits.

Meanwhile, Southern Oregon's Melissa Wilt collected her third win of the season, pitching all 5.0 innings and allowing a mere hit with a game-high 4 strikeouts.

Game #2 - Southern Oregon 6, Corban 4

In the night cap, Corban's bats came alive as the Warriors collected 10 hits off Raiders' pitching with a trio of freshman -- Guest, Kacie Emerick (Bellingham, Wash.), and Blaine Bartlett (Camano Island, Wash.) -- leading the way with two hits each.

After falling behind by three runs (3-0) after three innings, Corban got on the board for the first time with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning. Junior Laura Santie (Seattle, Wash.) singled before being advanced to second on a single by Emerick. Bartlett then doubled to drive in both runners and pulled the visiting Warriors within a single run.

Corban tied the game at 3-all in the top of the sixth inning when junior Lindsey Batey (Aloha, Ore.) opened the stanza with a double before advancing to third on a ground out by freshman Nicole Leupitz (Keizer, Ore.). One batter later, Emerick notched her second hit of the day -- a single -- to drive Batey in from third.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Southern Oregon put three runs on the board via on a 3-run home run by Katie Lee in its half of the sixth inning to pull away from the visiting college from the Capitol City.

Corban attempted to mount a come back in the seventh and final inning when sophomore Megan Gaylord (Portland, Ore.) singled before Guest drove her home with a two-out double. Southern Oregon's starting pitcher, Joelle Riekeman, got the final out of the game via a ground out to the short stop to conserve the 2-run victory and the twin bill sweep of the Warriors.

Corban's junior starter Kelley Seaton (Salem, Ore.) was handed her 9th loss of the season, as the right-hander went the distance for the Warriors, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 10 hits.

SOU's Riekeman picked up her second win of the season, as she went all 7.0 innings and allowed 4 runs (all earned) on 10 hits.

On the afternoon, Guest went a combined 3-for-6 with a RBI, while six other Warriors collected at least one hit in the twin bill.

With the losses, Corban drops to 3-21-1 overall, 1-7 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. On the other hand, Southern Oregon improves to 9-19 overall, 4-2 in CCC action. The Warriors are next in action on Tuesday, April 3rd, when they continue Cascade Collegiate Conference play against rivals Concordia University beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Delta Park in Portland.
