WILLAMETTE 11, CORBAN 3
SALEM, Ore. - In the Bearcats’ win over Corban, Willamette scored four times in the third inning, then broke the game open with a five-run seventh inning. In the third, Liz Gilgan was hit by a pitch to start a two-out rally. After gilgan scored second, Hale walked and both came around to score on Molly Barnes double off the left field fence. Lashawna Holcomb singled home Barnes, stole second and scored on Marissa Richards’ double.
Willamette tacked on singles runs in the fourt (on Hale’s bases-loaded walk) and the sixth (on Hale’s long home run to center).
Willamette iced the game in the seventh . Hale doubled home a run, holcomb doubled in three more and Richards belted another RBI single.
Laura Milne picked up the win, going six innings and allowing seven hits and two earned runs while striking out seven to even her record at 1-1. Casey Jarzombeck Clark pitched a scoreless seventh.

SALEM, Ore.– Jonni Byrne knocked in the game-winning run in the fifth inning, then Northwest Chritian tacked on three more insurance runs to take an 8-3 win over Corban College in a Capitol Cup Classic game Sunday afternoon at Willamette Field in Salem.
Kathy Richard reached on a walk and came around to score on Byrne’s RBI single. Lanea Hyland scored again in the inning when she raced home on Jenny Lipp’s ground-out to third.
Richard, Hyland and Byrne all had RBI singles in the sixth to put the game away for NW Christian.
Corban broke on top in the first inning when they scored twice. Sophomore Caylin Goss (La Grande, Ore.) scored on a wild pitch and Corban scored again on two hit batters and an error. The Beacons got one back in the bottom of the first on Hyland’s RBI double.
NW Christian took the lead on the fourth on two unearned runs and Corban made it 4-3 on sophomore Lindsay Batey’s (Aloha, Ore.) RBI double, setting the stage for NWC’s late inning rally.
Megan McLearn got the win with a complete game five-hitter. Freshman Erin Sailors (Anchorage, Alaska) went the distance for Corban, striking out six, but giving up six earned runs in six innings.
