SALEM, Ore. – Corban College junior Scott Marshall (Bend, Ore.) and sophomore Caleb Louvier (SeaTac, Wash.) were named as members of the Cascade Collegiate All-Conference 1st Team, while junior James Young (Estacada, Ore.) has been named as member of the Cascade Collegiate All-Conference 2nd Team, as announced today by Sam Ghrist, CCC Sports Information Director.
Marshall, who returned to the 1st team following a one-year hiatus, led both Corban and the CCC in goals with 14. The third-year forward also led the team and finished second in the conference in points with 32. The 5-foot-11 Redmond High School graduate averaged 0.93 goals per game and single-handedly guided the Warriors to victories over Whitman with a 4-goal effort, and over Albertson, with a 3-goal, 1-assist performance. Marshall was named conference and NAIA Region I Player of the Week twice, while being named Statesman Journal Athlete of the Week once.
Louvier, who was named to the 1st team for the second straight season, finished second on the team in goals (8), assists (4), and points (20), despite missing 4 games due to an injury. The 5-foot-10 Seattle Christian High School graduate led Corban to a come-from-behind victory over Northwest on October 8th thanks to a 4-goal performance. Louvier gained conference, NAIA Region I and Statesman Journal Player of the Week honors as a result.
Young, who was named to the 2nd team for the second straight season, anchored the Warriors’ defense, while scoring 1 goal and handing out 1 assist for a total of 3 points. The 5-foot-11 Estacada High School graduate scored his lone goal of the season in Corban’s 4-1 loss to Warner Pacific on October 17th.
Marshall ended his third season in a Warrior uniform ranked 2nd on the all-time career assists list with 22, 3rd in goals with 46, and 3rd in points with 114. Louvier has tallied 17 goals (1 away from the career top-10), 10 assists (7 away from the career top-10), and 44 points (7 away from the career top-10) in just two seasons.
