PORTLAND, Ore . – Juniors Andrew Brown (Madrid, Spain), Joshua Crain (Olympia, Wash.), and Caleb Louvier (SeaTac, Wash.) each scored a goal, as Corban's men's soccer team ended an eight-game losing streak against the Cavaliers of Concordia with a 3-1 victory on Thursday to move within a half game of first place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings.

Concordia began the scoring in the 6th minute when Rigo Rivas teamed with Joe Givens.  Rivas' goal came on a crossing pass from Givens with 5:20 reading on the clock.

Just over three minutes later, Brown scored his second goal of the season on a free kick.  The Cavaliers were called for a foul just outside the penalty box and Brown's shot managed to get past Concordia's wall and goalkeeper to knot the score at 1-all.

Crain put the Warriors up by a score when he scored his 5th goal of the season off an assist from Louvier.  The assist put Louvier within a mere point of senior forward Scott Marshall (Bend, Ore.) for the team lead...for the moment!

After Corban's second goal, Concordia had five shots on goal -- all in the second half.  Freshman goalkeeper Aaron Franklin (Red Bluff, Calif.) made the save on all five attempts to preserve the lead.

The Warriors capped the scoring when Louvier notched his team-leading 9th goal and 20th point of the season with two seconds remaining in the game.  The 5-foot-10 midfielder took a free kick from the right side that hit the left post and bounced into the net.  Louvier's goal gave him the team lead in both goals and points, as the Seattle Christian High School graduate has scored nine goals and handed out a pair of assists in 13 games this season.

Franklin ended the contest with a game-high 8 saves, while Concordia's net-minder, Garrett Staples, faced three shots on goal with each finding the back of the net.  Overall, Corban was out shot by seven (14-7), including a 9-3 Cavalier advantage in shots on goal.

With the win, Corban moves to 6-5-2 overall, 4-3-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.  Meanwhile, Concordia finds themselves at 6-5-1 overall, 4-3-0 in CCC action. The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, October 17th, when they host the Knights of Warner Pacific beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Warrior Field in Salem.
