PORTLAND, Ore. - Three different Warriors -- senior Andrew Brown (Madrid, Spain), freshman Brendan McCornack (Moses Lake, Wash.), and junior Fernando Karczeski (Curitiba, Brazil) -- scored a goal each, but Corban's men's soccer team fell in the final minute, 4-3, to the Knights of Warner Pacific on Thursday.

Playing for the first time in a week, Corban jumped out to a quick three-goal advantage in the game's opening 25-plus minutes under the lights at Portland Christian High School.

Brown got the Warriors on the board in the 11th minute with his second goal of the season off McCornack's team-leading fourth assist of the season.

Just over six minutes later, McCornack added to Corban's lead with his third goal of the season before Karczeski added his third goal this season in the 26th minute. The 5-foot-7 Brazilian midfielder has scored five career goals versus Warner Pacific, as Karczeski scored two goals last season and three goals during the '07 campaign.

Despite a goal by Warner Pacific's Luis Galvan in the 39th minute, Corban went into the locker room with a two-goal advantage having capitalized on three of its first seven shots.

In the closing 45 minutes, the host Knights began to find the back of the net with goals in the 50th and 66th minute to knot the game at 3-all. With the final minute counting down, Galvan added his second goal of the contest with exactly 30 seconds remaining in the game to secure the come-from-behind win for the Knights.

Corban's sophomore goalkeeper Aaron Franklin (Red Bluff, Calif.) played the entire 90 minutes between the pipes recording a season and game-high 12 saves. On the other hand, Warner Pacific platooned its keepers with Clark Henarie registering a pair of saves in the opening half before being replaced by Brian Kelly for the final half. Kelly picked up the win thanks to making three saves and keeping the Warriors from scoring over the final 45 minutes.

With the loss, Corban falls to 5-6-2 overall, 3-4-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action. Meanwhile, Warner Pacific improves to 6-6 overall, 6-3 in CCC action and takes sole possession of 2nd place in the conference standings. The Warriors are next in action on Saturday, October 13th, when they continue Cascade Collegiate Conference play against front-runners Concordia beginning at 4:00 p.m. at The Yard in Portland.
