SALEM, Ore. – Following a career-high 44 points from senior All-American Eric Fiegi (Medford, Ore.) on Tuesday night, Corban’s men’s basketball team had an all-around effort from all fourteen players en route to a 100-79 win over NCAA Division III member Linfield on Saturday night.

With the starters playing limited minutes, fourth-year head coach Justin Sherwood saw a lot out of his bench, as the reserves contributed 52% of the team’s total points and helped the Warriors extended their winning streak to three games.

“The bench played really well tonight,” said Sherwood.  “Heading into conference play next weekend we needed to see some production out of the reserves.  The starters need to step things up, but the bench played well enough tonight to make up the difference.”

Freshman Jason Braun (Dallas, Ore.) led a group of Warriors off the bench with 15 points, while senior guard Joel Worcester (Eugene, Ore.) added 13 also in a reserve role.  Freshman Jason Klontz (Redmond, Ore.) and junior Nate Morris (Dufur, Ore.) chipped in 9 points apiece in supporting roles.

The starting five combined for 49 points, as senior Chris Lynn (Kent, Wash.) led Corban with a team-high 16 points and Fiegi added 15 points.  Junior Ryan Heil (Medford, Ore.) led Corban with a team-high 8 rebounds, while Fiegi, Klontz, and junior Dan Buhler (Clackamas, Ore.) grabbed 5 rebounds each.

Corban shot 31-for-74 (41.9%) from the field, while Linfield shot 30-for-70 (42.9%).

Ryan Monagle led the Wildcats with a game-high 21 points, while Brian Murphy and Joe Wells added 13 and 10 points respectively.  Wells and Jackson Baber grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds each for Linfield, while Monagle and two other Wildcats pulled down 6 and 4 rebounds respectively.

With the win, Corban improves to 5-2, while Linfield falls to 1-2.  The Warriors are next in action on Friday, December 2nd, when they kick off the 2005-2006 conference schedule against the NAIA’s No. 2-ranked Red Raiders of Southern Oregon beginning at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
