Senior Eric Fiegi scored a game-high 36 points in the Warriors' win over Evergreen and ran his streak of 20-or-more points scored to 12 straight games.

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Senior All-American Eric Fiegi (Medford, Ore.) recorded game highs of 36 points and 8 rebounds, as Corban’s men’s basketball team tied their longest winning streak of the season with a 67-63 win over The Evergreen State College on Saturday night.

The 6-foot-9 South Medford High School graduate shot 13-for-25 from the field and 10-for-17 from the free throw line, while playing all 40 minutes.  Fiegi has scored 20-or-more points in 12 straight games, but had his double-double streak snapped at eight games.

Corban and Evergreen fought for the lead throughout the competition, each not allowing the other to stray far.  The Warriors held a 3-point lead (31-28) over the Geoducks at the break and continued to lead throughout the majority of the second half.  Up by ten at the six minute mark, Corban watched as Evergreen stepped their game up a notch and went on an exciting 14-2 run, as the Warriors committed 3 turnover in that time.  Over the final 1:53, Corban went from 2 points down (61-63) to 4 points up (67-63) thanks to three Geoduck players fouling out.  With each foul, the Warriors were awarded free throws and took full advantage hitting 6-out-of-10 attempts and captured their third straight win.

Fellow senior Joel Worcester (Eugene, Ore.) was the only other Warrior in double figures with 13 points, while senior Chris Lynn (Kent, Wash.), junior Ben Sisler (Corvallis, Ore.), and junior Brad Reynoso (Salem, Ore.) combined for 18 points.

Corban got their points from a quintet of players, while Evergreen was able to see production from six of its players.

Corban shot 26-for-53 (49.1%), while Evergreen shot 27-for-58 (46.6%) from the field.

Evergreen was led by Pat Mattson’s 25 points, while Thomas Cook added 12 points and Luke Hammond registered 11 points and a team-high 7 rebounds.

With the win, Corban improves to 13-12 overall, 7-7 in CCC play.  Evergreen falls to 10-15 overall, 5-10 in CCC play.  The Warriors are next in action on Friday, February 10th, when they host the Thunderbirds of Cascade beginning at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
