KIRKLAND, Wash. – Seniors Chris Lynn (Kent, Wash.) and All-American Eric Fiegi (Medford, Ore.) combined to score 51 points, as Corban’s men’s basketball team earned back-to-back wins for the first time since Thanksgiving weekend when they defeated the Eagles of Northwest, 93-86, on Friday night.

Corban began their two-game winning streak on Saturday when they defeated non-conference member Northwest Christian, 99-58.  The Warriors last won two straight games on November 22nd and 26th when they defeated NCAA Division III members George Fox, 108-100, and Linfield, 100-79.

Fiegi, who eclipsed the 3,000 point plateau last weekend, recorded his eighth double-double in a row and 18th of the season thanks to 25 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.  During his three-plus year career, the 6-foot-9 South Medford High School graduate has recorded fifty-five double-doubles.

Freshman Jason Braun (Dallas, Ore.), who was making his second straight start, was the only other Warrior in double figures with 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 1-for-2 from the free throw line.

Corban shot an amazing 21-for-35 (60.0%) in the first half, including 70.0% (7-for-10) from behind the 3-point line, en route to scoring 55 points and owned an 18-point lead (55-37) at the half.  The Warriors ended the game 33-for-65 (50.8%) from the field, including 12-for-23 (52.2%) from beyond the arc and 15-for-22 (68.2%) from the free throw line.

Northwest shot 32-for-77 (41.6%) from the field and was led by Aaron Sawyer’s game-high 27 points and 16 rebounds.  Chris Keller and Kendrick Holley were the only other Eagles in double figures with 19 and 13 points respectively, while Holley grabbed 5 boards.

With the win, Corban evens its record at 12-12 overall, 6-7 in CCC play.  Northwest falls to 16-8 overall, 7-7 in CCC play.  The Warriors are next in action on Saturday, February 4th, when they continue play in the state of Washington with a match up against the Geoducks of The Evergreen State College beginning at 7:30 p.m.
