Fiegi named NAIA Division II First-team all-American
Dunn recognized as honorable mention
SALEM, Ore. – Western Baptist College had a record-setting men’s basketball campaign in 2004-05 and junior Eric Fiegi (Medford, Ore. / South Medford HS) has been selected a first-team NAIA Division II all-American. Senior teammate Jeff Dunn (Dallas, Ore. / Dallas HS) also received national recognition as an honorable mention.
Fiegi led NAIA II in scoring averaging 27 points per game as Western Baptist equaled its best overall record (28-7) in program history. The Warriors started the season with a program-best 18 consecutive victories and were ranked No. 1 for nearly a month. WB was held 30 points below its nation-leading scoring average in a first round defeat to Bellevue University (Neb.), 68-65, in the NAIA II tournament last week.

Fiegi paced the Cascade Collegiate Conference this season with 91 blocked shots – a new single-season record at Western Baptist. The 6-foot-9 post is the program’s career-leading shot blocker with 196. He was second in the conference in rebounds (9.3) per game and field goal (.599) percentage this year. Fiegi shot 67 percent from the line and had 32 assists and 38 steals.
Fiegi is now fourth at Western Baptist in career points (2,344), rebounds (850), field goals (918) and free throws (507).
A third-team NAIA II all-American last year, Fiegi joined conference rivals Levell Hesia (Oregon Tech) and Shea Washington (Southern Oregon) as first-team picks this season.
Dunn is a NAIA II honorable mention all-American for the second straight season having transferred from
NCAA Division III Linfield College following his sophomore year.
Dunn was third in the conference in scoring averaging 20.3 points per contest. The 6-foot-5 wing topped the circuit and set a single-season program record by shooting 90.3 percent (121-134) from the line on the campaign.
Dunn delivered 49 percent from the field and was eighth in the conference in 3-point (.407) accuracy making a league-leading 99. He averaged 4.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Dunn was sixth in the conference averaging 1.7 steals per outing.
