Assistant Men's Basketball Coach |
Ray Reid returns for his fourth season with the men’s basketball coaching staff and will continue to work side-by-side with Sherwood and the other assistant coaches.
Ray arrives at Corban with a wealth of head coaching experience, which includes 4 years as head men’s soccer coach at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and two seasons as an assistant men’s soccer coach at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. On the basketball side of coaching, Ray has three seasons with the Warriors and two seasons as an assistant coach at North Salem High School.
Prior to his coaching stints, Ray earned a combined 8 letters in collegiate athletics, including 4 years of soccer, 2 seasons of basketball, 1 year of baseball, and 1 season of track & field at Seattle Pacific University.
“I became a Christian through the influence of a soccer coach,” Ray said. “I love small college basketball and the coaches and players at Corban.”
Ray and his wife, Jeanne, have three children (Marty, Lori, & Jamie). Marty, who played basketball at then-Western Baptist, is currently working, while Lori and Jamie are both college students in Salem. Ray, who is an attorney at law with the Law Offices of David Hilgemann, enjoys college basketball, golf, reading, and is a baseball statistics guru.
