SALEM, Ore. - Sixth-year head coach Justin Sherwood announced today that he has added Cascade High School senior Nash Keene (Aumsville, Ore.) to his list of recruits for the upcoming 2007-08 season.

Keene, a 6-foot guard, averaged 16.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season for the Cougars while playing for former Warrior and current Cascade HS boys' varsity basketball coach Steve Ball (1993-95).

"Nash will be a good addition to our team," commented Sherwood.  "He has proven that he can score in bunches, as well as help lead a team both on and off the court.  I respect Steve (Ball), as he was a former member of my coaching staff at Corban, because he knows how to prepare young men to play at the collegiate level."

This past season, Keene was named Capitol Conference co-Player of the Year as well as being named 1st team all-state at the 4A level and 2nd team all-region by the Statesman Journal.  The Cascade High School senior is also ranked in the top 50 among combo guards in the state of Oregon according to northwesthoops.com.

Keene joins four other members of the 07-08 recruiting class that includes nearby Western Mennonite senior Bryan Martin (Salem, Ore.), Aloha HS seniors Ian Logan (Aloha, Ore.) and Clay Martin (Aloha, Ore.), and junior college transfer Paul Martin (Aloha, Ore.) from Scottsdale Community College in Arizona.

Corban will tip off the 2007-08 season on Saturday, November 17th, when the Warriors host first-year program Portland Bible College beginning at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
