SALEM, Ore. – Corban College’s first-year men’s golf head coach Ron Sisler has inked two players for the 2007 season.

Sisler recently signed local senior Nicholas Schroeder (Silverton, Ore.) from Salem Academy Christian High School and sophomore transfer Wade Douglas (Ontario, Ore.) from Treasure Valley Community College.

Schroeder was a four-year participant at Salem Academy under head coach Pete Potloff and won the District 2 title as a junior before finishing third at the Class 2A/1A state tournament.  Schroeder began his high school career at Willamette Valley Christian where he played both basketball and golf before transferring to Salem Academy prior to his sophomore year.  The 6-foot-1 Silverton resident was also a member on the boys’ varsity basketball team during his first three years of high school, but opted to focus on golf during his senior year.

Douglas played the 2005 and 2006 seasons at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.  At TVCC, Douglas recorded a collegiate-best round of even-par 72 last fall, while playing as the Chukars’ No. 1 or No. 2 golfer.  At the 2005 NWAACC Championships, Douglas recorded a two-round total of 24-over 168 and finished 41st individually.  While prepping at Ontario High School, Douglas was a four-year participant and was high medalist on four different occasions.  Douglas finished 11th at the Class 3A state tournament as a junior and took 5th in the District tournament as a 2004 senior.

“We are excited to add both Nick and Wade to the roster for next season,” commented Sisler.  “With the nucleus that we have returning from this season’s roster, we should make a nice run at regionals in 2007.”

This season, the Warriors finished 10th at the NAIA Region I Tournament following rounds of 311, 333, and 316.
