Corban picked as runner-up in sophomore CCC polls

PORTLAND, Ore.
– As the second official season of conference golf begins next week, Corban's men's and women's teams have been picked to finish as the conference runner-ups as voted by the CCC coaches in the preseason poll that was released earlier today by the conference office.
Under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Ron Sisler, the Warriors are coming off a runner-up finish in last season's inaugural CCC Championships for both the men's and women's teams.
On the men's side, Corban was picked behind defending CCC champions Concordia. The Cavaliers received all five first-place votes for a total of 25 points, while the Warriors ended with 18 total points. Rounding out the top five were Northwest Christian (16 points), The College of Idaho (14 points), and Warner Pacific College (5 points).
On the women's side, the Warriors are slated to finish behind defending conference champions Concordia. The Cavaliers repeated the men's voting, as Concordia received all five first-place votes for a total of 25 points. Meanwhile, Corban received 18 total points to finish second followed by The College of Idaho (16 points), Northwest Christian (10 points), and Warner Pacific College (6 points).
The Warriors will tee it up to begin the 2008-09 season on Monday, September 15th, at the Northwest Christian Invitational, which starts the conference season, at Tokatee Golf Course in Blue River.
