PORTLAND, Ore.
– The Cascade Collegiate Conference and Diamond Woods Golf Course have agreed to a two-year partnership in which the Monroe, Ore.-based venue will serve as host and presenting sponsor of the 2009 and 2010 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships.
The annual 54-hole conference tournaments, which will be staged the third week of April both years, will be known as the “Cascade Collegiate Conference Golf Championships Presented by Diamond Woods.”
The championship-style, par-72 course is located midway between Corvallis and Eugene on Hwy. 99W.
“We are extremely excited to partner with Diamond Woods in the staging of our conference championship event,” said CCC commissioner Dave Haglund. “Our member institutions which sponsor men’s and women’s golf had a tremendous experience at Diamond Woods for a CCC regular season event this past March, and we’re delighted our student-athletes will continue to have such an outstanding golf course as part of their competition schedules the next two years. I’d also like to thank Ron Sisler, the head golf coach at Corban and the CCC sport chair, who was instrumental in this partnership.”
Said Jeff Doyle, general manager of Diamond Woods: “As proud supporters of collegiate golf, we are thrilled to be hosting the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships the next two years. The management and staff at Diamond Woods enjoyed having CCC teams for an event this spring, and we look forward to the opportunity to host the league’s championship events in 2009 and 2010.”
The 2009 tournament will be held April 20-21; the 2010 tournament will be held April 19-20.
