GATES, Ore. – Junior Wade Douglas (Ontario, Ore.) and freshman Jennifer Talburt (Roseburg, Ore.) paced Corban's men's and women's golf teams, as the Warriors concluded the spring season on Monday in an 18-hole tournament -- the Corban Spring Finisher -- at Elkhorn Valley Golf Course.

Amidst cold temperatures and occasionally rainy conditions, five men's teams -- tournament host Corban, Concordia, Central Oregon Community College, Linfield, and Willamette -- and two women's teams -- Corban and Concordia -- concluded the spring schedule just north of Mill City off Highway 22.

On the men's side, the Warriors concluded the event with a combined men's team score of 63-over 350 to finish behind tournament winner Concordia (322), Linfield (324), and Central Oregon Community College (328). Rounding out the five team field was Willamette with a combined team score of 104-over 391.

Douglas finished third individually with a score of 8-over 79 that included a 4-over 40 on the opening nine and a 4-over 39 on the closing nine. Thanks to his performance today, Douglas reclaims the season scoring average crown for the Warriors thanks to a seven-round average of 78.43 strokes per round.

Along with Douglas, freshman Nicholas Schroeder (Silverton, Ore.) and junior Josh Greenslade (Spokane, Wash.) each carded identical scores of 17-over 88 to go along with sophomore Nathan Furumasu's (Gladstone, Ore.), who was celebrating his 20th birthday, 24-over 95 to round out the counting scores for the Warriors.

Freshman Jonathan McGuire (Canby, Ore.) played as an individual and piggy-backed his first counting score of his collegiate career with a 32-over 103 to conclude the team scoring for Corban.

Concordia's A.J. Lightheart took medallist honors with a 2-over 73 followed by Central Oregon's Adam Lacey, who carded a 5-over 76. A quartet of Linfield Wildcats, including Kyle Henderson, Tyler Nelson, Joel Rychard, and Matt Taylor, turned in identical scores of 10-over 81 to tie with COCC's David Green for fourth individually.

On the women's side, Concordia earn the dual match victory with a combined team score of 68-over 355 led by medallist Lindsey Aho's 13-over 84. Corban concluded its inaugural season with a combined team score of 202-over 499 led by Talburt's score of 47-over 118.

Junior Caylin Goss (La Grande, Ore.), senior Hallie Hofferd (Bend, Ore.), and freshman Jordon Weldon (Klamath Falls, Ore.) rounded out the Warriors' scoring with a 53-over 124, 57-over 128, and 58-over 129 respectively.

Corban's women's team finished the 2007 season with a pair of 2nd place finishes, a season-opening 3rd place finish, and a 7th place finish in its lone two-day tournament. Meanwhile, the men's team will take time away from the course to prepare for the 2007 NAIA Region I tournament on Monday, April 30th, and Tuesday, May 1st, at Christina Lakes Golf Course in Christina Lakes, British Columbia. The Warriors will play 36 holes on the first day followed by 18 holes on the second and final day of the regional tournament.
