McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Freshman Nicholas Schroeder (Silverton, Ore.) fired a 7-over 79 to pace Corban's men's golf team to a third place showing in its next-to-last tournament of the spring season on Wednesday at the Linfield Invitational at Michelbrook Country Club.

Amidst blustery and occasionally rainy conditions on Wednesday, the Warriors concluded the event with a combined team score of 41-over 329 to finish behind invitational host and winner Linfield (305) and cross-town rival Willamette (324).

Schroeder went out in a 7-over 44 on the front nine before coming back in with an even-par 35 on the final nine holes for his eighteen hole total of 79.

Along with Schroeder, junior Wade Douglas (Ontario, Ore.) carded an 8-over 80 with a front nine score of 5-over 42 combined with a back nine total of 3-over 38.

Junior Josh Greenslade (Spokane, Wash.) finished third on the team with an 11-over 83 that included a 5-over 42 on the first nine and a 6-over 41 on the final nine.

Freshman Jonathan McGuire (Canby, Ore.), who turned in his first official score of the season that counted towards the team total, finished with a 15-over 87 that included an 8-over 45 on the opening nine and a 7-over 42 on the closing nine holes.

Sophomore Nathan Furumasu (Gladstone, Ore.) concluded the Warriors' scoring with a 17-over 89 with a front nine total of 7-over 44 and a back nine score of 10-over 45.

Invitational-host Linfield carded the first five individual finishers, as the Wildcats' Matt Taylor took home medallist honors with a 2-over 74. Meanwhile, Linfield's Kyle Henderson (4-over 76), Kevin Duerr (5-over 77), and Andrew Fitch (6-over 78) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats. Drew Fogg, who played as an individual, turned in a score of 5-over 77 to tie for third with teammate Duerr, while Tyler Nelson tied for sixth thanks to a 7-over 79.

For Willamette, Ben Bryant led the Bearcats with a 7-over 79 that was good for a tie for sixth place individually. Bryant was followed by fellow Bearcats Robbie Beard (8-over 80), Grant Leslie (9-over 81), and Shane Adversalo (12-over 84) to round out the scoring for Willamette. The Bearcats also got scores from Tyler Robinson (19-over 91) and Pete Hayward (21-over 93).

Corban will conclude its spring schedule on Monday, April 16th, when the Warriors host the Corban Spring Finisher at Elkhorn Valley Golf Club beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Gates, Oregon.

NOTE: The Corban Spring Finisher will feature tournament-host Corban, NCAA Division III member and cross-town rival Willamette, fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference member Concordia, NCAA Division III member Linfield, and Central Oregon Community College on the men's side.
