Sisler shoots Warriors to season-low 317 at Corban Three-Way

LEBANON, Ore. – Junior Ben Sisler (Corvallis, Ore.) shot a team-best 3-over 75 in leading Corban’s golf team to a season-low 317 at the Corban Three-Way against Concordia University and Linfield College at Mallard Creek Golf Course.
Despite a solid performance from Corban’s top three players – Sisler, senior Craig Paulsen (Klamath Falls, Ore.), and senior Jason Swank (Albany, Ore.) – it was not enough, as Concordia shot a match-low 12-over 300 en route to winning the three-team event.
Paulsen shot a season-low 5-over 77, while Swank came in two strokes higher at 7-over 79. Freshman Nathan Furumasu (Gladstone, Ore.) rounded out the Warrior scoring with a 14-over 86, while sophomores Josh Greenslade (Spokane, Wash.) and Chad Emmert (Sweet Home, Ore.) turned in rounds of 23-over 95. Greenslade was the alternate in Corban’s scoring, while Emmert shot as an individual.
Concordia was led by Marc Arima’s 1-over 73, while Tyler Austin and Matt Guthrie each carted a 2-over 74. Craig Dehning and Chris Slaton rounded out the Cavalier scoring with 7-over 79s. Dehning’s score counted in the overall total for Concordia, while Slaton came in as the alternate.
Linfield was anchored by Andrew Fitch’s 3-over 75, while Trevor Phillips and Jeff Nigro each shot a 4-over 76. Daniel Goudsmit rounded out the Wildcat scoring with a 5-over 77, while Kyle Henderson carted a 6-over 78 as the alternate member of Linfield’s squad.
Concordia’s Stephen Connor took medalist honors, as an individual, with a 2-under 70. The Cavaliers’ Dan Scobie turned in a round of 6-over 78, as Concordia’s second individual golfer. Linfield’s Charles Kintner shot an 8-over 80 as an individual for the Wildcats.
Corban will hit the links again on Thursday, April 20th, when they compete in the Concordia Three-Way with Concordia University and Central Washington University. The match with begin at 10:00 a.m. at Heron Lake Golf Course in Portland, Oregon.
