Horn recognized as Conference Libero of the Week

SALEM, Ore. – Corban College junior Becky Horn (Troutdale, Ore.) has been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Libero of the Week, as announced today by CCC Sports Information Director Sam Ghrist.
Horn, who came to Corban from Clackamas Community College, appeared in three matches last week and helped lead the Warriors to 2 wins.
Horn anchored the Warriors’ back line with a team-high 16 digs in 27 chances without committing a passing error in helping Corban earn their second win of the season – a 3-1 victory (30-21, 30-26, 31-33, 30-15) over Cascade College. Horn also recorded 3 service aces in 20 attempts, with only 1 error.
The 5-6 Reynolds High School graduate posted her best numbers of the year against one of the NAIA’s top-ranked teams. Facing No. 12 Northwest University, Horn racked up a season-high 30 digs in a 4 game loss (23-30, 16-30, 30-27, 20-30) to the visiting Eagles. Horn established a .906 passing percentage (30 digs in 32 attempts with 1 error), while adding a service ace to the Warrior cause.
Horn finished up the award-winning week with an errorless match-high 15 digs, 1 service ace performance, keying Corban’s first home victory of the season, a three-game sweep (30-18, 30-27, 30-21) of The Evergreen State College Geoducks.
In the three matches, Horn posted a team-high 61 digs (avg. 5.55) in 79 attempts (.759 passing percentage). So far this season, Horn has recorded a team-high 215 digs (avg. 5.66) and is on pace to record the second highest single season digs total in program history.
