PORTLAND, Ore. – Fifteen student-athletes earned Academic All-Cascade Collegiate Conference team honors as announced today by the conference office led by five cross country runners, four women's soccer players, three men's soccer players, and three women's volleyball players.
To earn Academic All-Conference recognition, student-athletes must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, reached sophomore standing, and competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their team's contests this fall.
This is the first year that the conference has honored students for their work in the classroom, as well as the athletic side of their respective sport.
Women's cross country placed four runners on the Academic All-Conference team led by senior Danielle Jordan (Medford, Ore.), senior Sara Aikin (Lebanon, Ore.), senior Jill Nielsen (Baker City, Ore.), and sophomore Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.).
Women's soccer placed senior Megan Waunch (Tumwater, Wash.), senior Sara Laughlin (Ephrata, Wash.), junior Karyn Allen (Merlin, Ore.), and sophomore Jessica Matthews (Yelm, Wash.) on the All-Academic team.
Men's soccer and women's volleyball each placed three student-athletes on the list with seniors Caleb Louvier (SeaTac, Wash.), Andrew Brown (Madrid, Spain), and Quinn Neely-Gallagher (Nelson, New Zealand) earning honors for men's soccer. The women's volleyball recipients were senior Caylin Bankston (La Grande, Ore.), junior Chelsea Reeher (Powell Butte, Ore.), and sophomore Amy Thompson (Oregon City, Ore.).
Junior Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) was the final Warrior to make the list, as he was the lone men's cross country runner from Corban to be honored as Academic All-Conference.
All six Academic All-Conference recipients from men's soccer and women's volleyball also earned NAIA Academic All-American honors as announced by the national office earlier this month.
