Jeff McKay will begin his first season as part of Corban’s coaching staff this season and will work as the main recruiting coordinator for the Warriors and head coach Nate Mayben.
Jeff has a total of 34 years in professional baseball. After starting as a player, then as a minor league hitting and pitching coach, he has for the last 25 years been a full-time scout with the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Kansas City, and the American League’s Chicago Organizations.
Prior to this season, Jeff spent the past six years with the Kansas City Royals as their national and west coast cross check scout. After retiring from scouting with the Royals this past summer, Jeff took a position and is currently working as a Northwest area scout for the Chicago White Sox.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from the University of Oregon in 1980 where he was assistant baseball coach for two years. Jeff is the founder of Baseball Northwest and has for the past seven years worked closely with Bio-Kinetics, Inc., the leader in research and development of three-dimensional computer motion analysis of major league players hitting and pitching mechanics.
Jeff and his wife, Jodi, currently reside in Springfield along the McKenzie River where he fishes for a hobby. The couple has two daughters -- Annie, a student at Corban, and Torie.
