Fitchett named Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week

SALEM, Ore. – Corban College junior Scott Fitchett (Sandpoint, Idaho) has been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week following a perfect 2-0 week against Oregon Tech and Albertson, as announced today by the conference office.
Fitchett made two appearances last week against Oregon Tech on Tuesday and Albertson College of Idaho on Friday. The 6-foot-3 Sandpoint High School graduate pitched a combined 14.0 innings and allowed 3 runs (1 earned) on 11 hits, while fanning 5 batters in the process.
In the two games, Fitchett collected an earned run average of 0.64, allowing only 1 earned run over the pair of games.
Against Oregon Tech, Fitchett pitched the Warriors to a 13-2 victory thanks to 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball, while allowing 2 unearned runs.
Following a double header opening loss to Cascade Conference champions Albertson, Fitchett took the mound and pitched 7.0 innings and allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 4 Coyotes hitters.
So far this season, Fitchett has collected 2 wins in 15 appearances, including 11 starts, while pitching a team-high 72 1/3 innings. The junior right hander leads the team with 2 saves and has struck out 41 batters, while holding opponents to a batting average of .283.
This is the first time in his career that Fitchett has received this pitching honor and second week in a row that a pitcher from Corban has been named the conference’s best.
