KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Sophomore Jordan Emery (Salem, Ore.) and junior Scott Fitchett (Sandpoint, Idaho) pitched a combined 14.0 innings, while the Warriors' bats came alive and led Corban's baseball team to back-to-back wins, 6-1 & 13-2, over Oregon Tech at Leo J. Bocchi field.

In the opener, Emery tossed a nifty four hitter allowing OIT only one run in the third inning when OIT's Chris Curtis tripled to centerfield and scored on a Scott Gelhardt ground out.

Corban jumped on OIT starter Ty Combs with five singles good for two runs in the top of the first inning. That would be all the help Emery would need; however, the Warriors added two runs in both the fourth and sixth innings for good measure en route to securing the 6-foot-3 right-hander's team-best 5th win of the season.

Juniors Ryan Heil (Medford, Ore.) and Jeremy Frantz (Medford, Ore.) each had two base hits for Corban, as five different Warriors drove in one run. Sophomore Jamie McGraw (Gaston, Ore.) scored two runs, which brings his team-leading total to 34 runs scored this season.

In the night cap, Corban used the big inning where they scored six runs and three twice to put the Owls in a cage for the 13-2 win. The Warriors pounded four Tech pitchers for 17 base hits to complete the sweep.

Heil and Franz each had three hits in the second contest to bring their days total to five each, while senior Jesse Gaylord (Portland, Ore.) also pounded out 3 hits. Sophomore Scott Flux (Salem, Ore.) had the key hit a the game -- a bases-clearing double -- and drove in 3 runs.

Fitchett allowed two unearned runs in seven innings to pick up his first win of the season for Corban. Kyle Koontz was the losing pitcher for Tech.

On the afternoon, Heil scored 3 runs and drove in one to go along with his five hits, while six different Warriors recorded at least two hits in the twin bill.

With the wins, Corban improves to 10-23 overall, 5-18 in Region I action. Oregon Tech falls to 20-18 overall, 10-12 in Region I play. The two teams will complete the three game series on Wednesday, April 25th, in a nine inning game. The first pitch is set for 10:00 a.m. at Leo J. Bocchi field.
