Sophomore Jordan Emery recorded the Warriors' longest outing so far this season, as he went 7.0 innings to pick up the win.

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Sophomore Jordan Emery (Salem, Ore.) pitched seven solid innings, as Corban’s baseball team picked up a 3-0 win over Whitman College in its third game at the Yamhill County Spring Classic played under the lights at Linfield College.

Neither team scored until Corban put two runs on the board in the 5th inning when sophomore Jamie McGraw (Gaston, Ore.) scored on an error by Whitman’s catcher following a single by sophomore Ryan Porter (Keizer, Ore.).  With Porter on third, senior Brian Nelson (Lebanon, Ore.) hit a sacrifice fly to left field that scored the Warriors’ short stop.

In the 6th inning, sophomore Derek Stokes (Anchorage, Alaska) singled to short stop, scoring junior Jeremy Frantz (Medford, Ore.) for the Warriors’ final run of the night.

Emery, along with senior Josh Gaylord (Portland, Ore.) and junior Scott Fitchett (Sandpoint, Idaho), combined for a 1-hit shutout.  Emery threw the first 7.0 innings and struck out a game-high tying 7 batters in securing the victory.  Gaylord pitched the 8th inning, while Fitchett came on in the 9th inning and got the final three outs to record the save.

Porter finished the game 3-for-4 with 1 run scored, while five other Warriors record one hit in the win.
