Decade of the 1950s reunion
As alumni from the Decade of the 1950s of Western Baptist Bible College, whether you attended college in Oakland or El Cerrito, or whether you graduated or attended for some time, you are an alumnus (man) or alumna (woman) of what has transitioned to Western Baptist College for many years is now more recently Corban College.
Names have changed over fifty years but rest assured, our values are the same. We are honored that so many influential people in your era are still present on our beautiful Oregon campus with their names on various buildings: Carrel Aagard, Herbert Farrar, Frank Prewitt, John Schimmel and last, but certainly not least, Dr. and Mrs. Van Gilder. It’s probably very hard for you to believe that it has been 50 years or more since you attended college.
You are very special to us and to honor you and acknowledge over fifty years, we would like to invite you and your guest to join us on Saturday, May 3, 2008, for a Decade of the 1950s reunion. By the way, Corban College’s commencement ceremony starts at 10 a.m., and the Class of 1958 will be recognized at that event. Please be our guest at a lovely luncheon and then spend the afternoon together reminiscing and sharing memories. As you are our special guests, there is no cost to you for the luncheon.
After lunch we will spend the afternoon catching up on each other’s lives and sharing memories of college days. Were you a part of the outreach student-led street teams, The Joy Club, Webabico or Gateway staff, involved in the WBBC Music Department in choir or quartette’s or student leadership? Maybe you played on the football, basketball, softball and volleyball teams? Did you have a favorite faculty or administrator? This will be a perfect time to reminiscence and recall fond times.
Many of you reside in Oregon, some are from California and looking over our list you are scattered from Arizona, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Texas, Washington and Wyoming, with a few in foreign countries.
Even though many live out-of-state we hope you will make every effort to join us.
