BOL Online: Course Features

  • Asynchronous Discussions

  • A primary feature of BOL Online is weekly discussion forums. Throughout the program, readings will be completed and discussion questions posted through a course management system that allows students to exchange comments on their reading at times convenient to their personal, daily schedule. Students will be able to read the comments of fellow students and add personal comments and reflections. One of the greatest benefits of this format is the scheduling flexibility for participating in "classroom" discussions.

  • One of the most exciting benefits of the Internet is the application of course management software to allow people to attend classes from home or "on the road." Asynchronous class discussions allow you to interact at times that fit you schedule and lifestyle.

  • Online students actually enjoy better and more frequent contact with faculty and classmates than traditional campus students. Beyond the asynchronous discussion exchanges mentioned above, students utilize real-time chat conferencing and Internet-based audio conferencing to work collaboratively as teams and to discuss issues with instructors.
