When I was trying to decide what college was going to be the best fit for me, Corban seemed to be just what I was looking for -- I wanted was to be in a small private, Christ-centered atmosphere, where I could continue my athletics and study in a field that would help me prepare for the career I would have for the rest of my life.
Looking back, Corban has turned out to be all that I had anticipated and even more. Not only have I learned so much as a Human Performance Sports Fitness major but I have also grown in my Christian walk with the Lord.
My first semester in college, I jumped right into Human Performance classes and began my journey learning about the human body, the fitness field, and the world of athletics.
I feel I have had a lot of positives experiences overall with the Human Performance program. The classes I was required to take were challenging, biblically sound, educational, as well as fun. Participation was always encouraged and I always felt comfortable sharing my thoughts and opinions with the class.
The atmosphere created by the professors actually made me want to go to class and because athletics and fitness is something I am passionate about, I truly enjoyed my time spent learning. I am excited to put all of the knowledge I have learned from being a human performance major into action.

I decided to major in Human Performance and Sports Fitness because of my love for athletics, enhanced living through exercise, and being able to spend time with motivated individuals.
I had no knowledge of the exercise science world when I began classes in 2004, but through my time at Corban I feel confident that I have been well prepared for the career the Lord has in store for me.
During my senior year of high school I had the opportunity to visit four other schools before I stepped on the campus of Corban University. After I had talked to a few members of the faculty and toured the campus, I knew this was the place God wanted me to be. Since that time I’ve not only received a quality education and made many relationships that will last a lifetime, but I have also deepened my walk with Christ.
The Human Performance faculty challenged me in many ways by requiring a variety of tasks in the classroom from tests to internships. Dr. Bale and Professor Hong always made classes enjoyable by interacting with the students and communicating their knowledge in ways that were understood and remembered. They also always made themselves available to myself and others if we had questions or concerns about their class. I consider them both friends and mentors.
I will always remember my time at Corban with a smile on my face because of the enjoyable experiences I had. I am sad to go, but also excited to see where God leads me next.

I decided to major in Physical Education because of my love for athletics and the desire to make an impact on the lives of young people. Sports gives teachers a great opportunity to get involved in the lives of their students by sharing a common interest. I think students are quicker to lower their walls against teachers and enjoy class in a PE setting.
I decided to attend Corban because of the great teacher education program because the teachers really care about their students' success in their studies and life. Dave Bale is an excellent Human Performance teacher who challenges his students to do better than average. His classes prepare you for the reality of the real world and are not for the faint of heart. He's done a great job of keeping everyone on their toes.
The professors at Corban have helped me prepare for my career as a teacher and grow as a Christian in life, both in and out of the classroom.
I am praying for God's direction in my life and want to follow His plans whatever they might be. I see myself teaching PE and coaching at a high school in the area.

I chose to major in Human Performance because I love fitness and being around it. This major allows me to learn how the human body operates during physical activity through doing the activity itself. It also allows you to study the business aspect of fitness and gives you a wide range of skills to use after college.
Corban was the place for me because I wanted to go to a Christian college so I could strengthen my walk and also study in a Christian atmosphere.
Dr. Dave Bale has influenced me a great deal. He is a challenging professor that expects a lot out of you and also brings out the best in you. I consider him not only a professor but also a friend.
We've had some fun times in the Human Performance classes. For our major we have to take Teaching Aquatics. In our group of HP majors, we are not very good swimmers. We always laugh when remembering back on this class.
