Health Science

"The health science program is a pre-professional program for those who want to go into medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, optometry, or become a physician assistant. At Corban, you will have the opportunity to learn science from Christian professors who teach from a Christian perspective."
-Jerry Johnson, Department Chair

Program Overview
The Health Science program is a pre-professional major for students interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare professions. This major is appropriate for students interested in pursuing graduate education in the biological sciences or pursuing entrance into professional medical schools.

Graduates may seek entrance to professional schools in medicine, occupational therapy, physician assistance, optometry, dentistry, and pharmacy. Entrance requirements for these graduate programs vary from school to school; however, some basic courses are common to most. These common courses are the foundation of the Health Sciences major. Electives in the major allow the student to tailor their program of study to meet the specific entrance requirements of the professional or graduate school of their choice. Students are encouraged to work closely with the advisors of the Health Sciences major to plan a course of study that meets their educational objectives.
