Electronic Sources

The library offers access to over 10,000 newspaper and journal titles on our various databases.  These can be accessed at our databases page.

Reference and Indexes

The reference collection is located in the east wing.  It includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, atlases and handbooks.  These books are valuable sources for defining terms, obtaining overviews and statistics in many academic fields.  Paper periodical indexes are also housed in this area.

Periodicals

Current issues of periodicals are located in the lounge area and may not be checked out.  Back issues are located on the upper floor.  They may be checked out for one week only.  There are no renewals.  Current education journals are kept in the Teacher Education Center.

Media and Vertical File

The media center is located on the main floor.  It includes videos, DVD’s, CD’s, tapes, and records.

The vertical file is also on the main floor in the north wing.  It houses approximately 13,000 clippings and pamphlets.  They are accessed by subject in the card catalog.

Microfiche and Microfilm

Microforms are located in the east wing of the main floor.  The library has a collection of periodicals, books, and thesis on microfiche and film.  A microfiche reader-printer is available at 10 cents per page.

Photocopy Services

A photocopier is available on the main floor.  Copies are 5 cents per page.  Transparencies must be purchased at the desk for 20 cents each.  There is an additional 5 cents charge to copy the transparency. 

The Prewitt-Allen Archaeological Museum

The museum is located on the upper floor of the library.  It features many artifacts from the Near East, Greece and the Americas. Visit the museum website here.
